A couple rounds of precipitation arrived across the Pembina and Red River Valleys over the weekend.
"The first came mid to late Saturday afternoon when the cold front associated with a low pressure system centred over northern Manitoba swept through the region," explained CMOS Accredited Weathercaster Chris Sumner. "A line of storms from the Interlake south into North Dakota developed along that front. There have been a couple of reports of extremely gusty winds as the front moved from west to east."
According to the Manitoba Ag Weather Network, a gust of 98km/h was recorded at Dugald; 76km/h at Windygates and 75km/h south of Winkler.
Sumner noted the strong winds were relatively brief, and would more than likely been part of the gust front associated with the line of non-severe thunderstorms as they pushed eastward.

"The second round of showers started early morning Sunday, with periods of light drizzle lasting into the afternoon," he added. "That precipitation came from the same low as it moved southward."

"There is a small chance shower activity today from the backside of the same low pressure that impacted the region Saturday and Sunday," added Sumner. "If we do, I don't expect much for accumulation."
Sunshine returns Tuesday with surface high pressure clearing things out, and also allowing warmer temperatures to arrive for a day.
"The forecast models are showing a dip below seasonal, with a mix of sun and cloud, on Wednesday and Thursday as we see a trough move over the area and cooler air move in," he said. "Generally speaking, after Monday, it appears like it should be a fairly dry week with little chance of additional rainfall."
Averages for this time of year are 24 degrees daytime and 11 degrees overnight.
