Athletes from Weyburn Comprehensive School delivered strong performances at the 2025 Saskatchewan High School Athletic Association Provincial Track and Field Championships, held in Moose Jaw over the weekend. 

Leading the way was Cole Payak, who earned a silver medal in the long jump with a leap of 5.73 metres. Payak was also a key contributor across several other events, finishing 10th in the 200m (24.75), 12th in the 100m (12.06), 19th in javelin (32.36m), and helping his team to a 4th-place finish in the 4x100m relay (47.88). 

Sophie Pollock also showcased her versatility, placing 7th in both the 100m (13.20) and long jump (4.55m), 9th in the 200m (28.07), and 23rd in high jump (1.35m). She was part of the girls' 4x100m relay team that placed 4th with a time of 53.61, alongside Sovannah Demelo. 

In distance events, Camden Husband earned a strong 5th-place finish in the 3000m (10:14.38) and was 13th in the 1500m (4:49.93). Ajax Longman competed in both races as well, placing 24th in the 1500m (5:10.52) and 14th in the 3000m (11:04.92). Easton Spagrud finished 13th in the 800m (2:29.83) and 12th in the 1500m (4:55.03). 

Other notable finishes included: 

  • Tace Odima, 9th in the 400m (53.45) and part of the boys' 4x400m relay team that placed 5th (3:46.52) 

  • Natalie Molde, 17th in the 400m (1:08.01) and 13th in the 4x400m relay (5:03.60) 

  • Bailey Roy, 9th in discus (24.77m) 

  • Whitney Lanz-McIntyre, 24th in discus (19.23m) 

  • Peyton Lokken, 14th in triple jump (9.62m), 26th in long jump (3.96m), and 14th in high jump (1.35m) 

  • Alyssa Kerr, 21st in 80m hurdles (15.15) 

  • Aeryk Benning, 10th in the 100m (11.81) and 13th in the 200m (25.06) 

  • Karis Gerle, 20th in the 100m (13.91) and 16th in long jump (4.04m)
