Weyburn City Council will be meeting Monday night with a full agenda that includes financial updates, infrastructure reports, and development proposals.
Among the first items will be a proclamation recognizing Pride Week in Weyburn from June 15th to 21st.
Under the consent agenda, the council will review financial and infrastructure reports, including the April cash activity report. Also up for review are the May reports from Public Works and the Water Treatment Plant.
In the new business section of the meeting, the council will consider three items. The first is a home-based business permit application for a financial services operation. The next is a land sale request from Dustin and Sarah Satre to purchase a portion of municipal land behind their home on Elgin Street, where they plan to build a family sports court.
The third item on that part of the agenda is a proposed merger of two residential development incentive programs. The recommendation would see the Show Home Incentive Program folded into the existing Weyburn Builds program, with tax abatements increased to 100 percent for three years on new builds.
Council will also move in-camera to discuss a Code of Ethics complaint, as permitted under provincial privacy legislation.
The meeting begins at 6 p.m. in council chambers at City Hall. We will have full coverage of the meeting, on-air and online, starting tomorrow morning.
