The Diamond Valley Fire Rescue responded to a fire alarm at the Water Treatment Plant late Sunday night.

At approximately 11:10 p.m. on June 8, an industrial building fire alarm went off at the Water Treatment plant on the Turner Valley side of town.

When the firefighters arrived on the scene, they saw smoke coming from the building, which then upgraded the response to a structure fire.

After they forced their way into the building, the firefighters located the source of the smoke.

There was an electrical fire in a large industrial power box.

The firefighters were able to safely extinguish the fire and performed ventilation, which cleared the building of smoke.

While it was a power box that was involved in the fire, it will not impact the operation of the water treatment plant, and all operations at the plant remain functioning.

Foothills County staff who operate the facility attended the site and were able to confirm the building is fully operational.

Engine 2, the Duty Chief, Ladder 3, Engine 3, Squad 2, and the Fire Chief all responded to the fire.
