The memories of attending summer camp as a child always stick with you, and the Moose Jaw Salvation Army wants to give youngsters those memories that will last a lifetime.
Registration is now open for theĀ Salvation Army's Adventure Camp at Beaver Creek Camp from July 21 - 25. The camp is for youth aged seven to twelve, and participants will experience swimming, hiking, crafts, and several different activities to keep them occupied for the full week.
"We want to give back to the community and allow young people to experience camp. By getting away from home, to be with kids their age, to build their social skills, enjoy activities, and just be themselves," said Major Byron Murphy of the Moose Jaw Salvation Army.
To register, go to the Salvation Army office at 175 1st Avenue NE in Moose Jaw. The fee is $265 per child.
Major Byron Murphy of the Moose Jaw Salvation Army spoke with Country 100's Avery LeBlanc about the registration process and options for lower-income families. Listen below.
