Now that the sun is shining, and the weather is warm, be careful of cattle that could be on the road.

The M.D. of Willow Creek recently posted to Facebook to remind people that ranchers in the area are going to be bringing their herds to summer pastures.

As part of bringing their cattle to summer pastures, the ranchers conduct cattle drives, which could see cattle being herded along roads and highways in the area.

If you come across a cattle drive, the M.D. of Willow Creek is reminding people to be patient with everyone involved, from the cattle to the rancher to dogs, and the pace they are going, because the ranchers are working hard to get the livestock moved to their summer pastures safely.

On top of that, it's advised to look for the rancher, who could be on horseback, on foot, or ATV, for direction.

If the herd is coming towards you, pull over and stop if it's possible, as that will make it easier for the herd to pass, but if you need to drive through, drive slowly and the herd will part around the vehicle.

Not only that, but it's advised to not honk your horn.

As the M.D. of Willow Creek said, if you come across a cattle drive, take a moment and enjoy the tradition of cattle drives.
