The Portage la Prairie Regional Library is gearing up for a summer packed with reading, activities, and imagination.
This year’s TD Summer Reading Club kicks off on June 19 with the theme “Around the World,” and there’s something planned for children of all ages.
Community Program Coordinator Leah O’Leary says the team is excited to welcome local families for another season of adventure.
“Get ready for an exciting summer of reading with this year's TD Summer Reading Club,” she notes.
Weekly themes and prizes
The program includes themed weeks such as Culture Week, Animal Week, and Fantasy Land Week, each filled with activities meant to inspire and entertain.
Kids can pick up a Passport Log Book when they register, and for every ten books they read, they’ll earn a small prize and a ballot for a chance to win one of four grand prize bundles.
O’Leary adds, “Sign up early between June 19th and the 28th, and you'll be entered in for a chance to win Splash passes.”
Open to all ages
The program is open to children of all reading levels, with booklets available for both pre-readers and readers.
The prize bundle details will be shared in the library’s display case and through their social media channels.
The team says they can’t wait to see families take part in what promises to be a fun and inspiring summer.
