Mayor Jeff Richards proclaimed June 15th to 21st as Pride Week in Weyburn during Monday's meeting of Weyburn City Council.

The week kicks off with rainbow colours being painted on the crosswalks on Sunday at the intersection of 3rd Street and Souris Avenue.

On Monday, a Pride flag will be raised outside of City Hall at 12 p.m., which will include speeches and cupcakes.

Then, at 7 p.m. on Monday,  the Weyburn Arts Council will host a fun night of arts and crafts including pottery keychains, linocut stamp making, and tie-dye, at the Weyburn Art Gallery. Anyone planning to attend should bring their own pre-washed cotton t-shirt or tote bag for the tie-dye.

The Weyburn Public Library will host a movie in the Allie Griffin Auditorium on Tuesday at 6 p.m., 'Every Body', which is rated R and requires registration by calling 306-842-4352.

On Wednesday at 6 p.m., Meok Ja will host Karaoke and games.

A carpool will depart from Weyburn on Thursday at 5:30 p.m. to head to Estevan, for Pride Screen Printing at the Estevan Art Gallery and Museum.

On Friday at 7 p.m., Stranger Danger Candy Co. will host a Queer Trivia Night and button-making event.

Then, on Saturday, a Pride Picnic will be held in the gazebo at River Park from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
