Drivers in Portage la Prairie are being detoured this week due to construction on a busy residential road.
The City of Portage la Prairie has closed Gigot Avenue from 18th Street NW to 20th Street NW, with no access from 19th Street NW.
The temporary closure went into effect Monday, June 9, and is expected to remain in place until the end of the day Friday, June 13.
As of the latest update, the city has reopened Gigot Avenue between 20th Street NW and 21st Street NW to traffic.
Motorists are still advised to avoid the closed section and plan alternate routes if travelling through the area this week.
