On Tuesday, it was announced that Airdronian Chris Glass will be the parade marshal for the 2025 Canada Day parade.
Glass is excited to be at the front of the parade.
"It is an incredible honour and pretty humbling to be selected for this, it's going to be a lot of fun."
Earlier this month, Glass received the Mr. Airdrie Memorial Award in honour of Keith Wilkinson. he explained he was reached out to about the role shortly after.
"They asked and I accepted, it's going to be a great day."
Glass explained it will be a very busy day as Airdrie CultureFest is also taking place on Canada Day, and he is one of the organizers for it.
"It's gonna be an action-packed day for the glass household."
He went on to talk about more of what it means to be at the front of the parade this year.
"I've been in the parade before as a participant in a float, and it seems crazy from that perspective, but to actually be leading the parade is something else."
Glass concluded by saying he is excited to be a part of the celebration.
"I love Airdrie so much, and I love our community so much, so to be able to share in this day is going to be fantastic."
