The Completely Branded RentPro Weyburn Razorbacks earned a hard-fought point Wednesday night, battling the Regina Chaos to a 10-10 draw.

The Razorbacks came out flying, scoring five goals in the opening period on just 13 shots. Ryder Hignett opened the scoring and added another later in the frame, while Brody Morrice struck twice, and Leo Missal chipped in with a goal of his own. Weyburn led 5-3 after the first despite being outshot 24-13, with goaltender Matthew Charlton already facing heavy pressure.

The second period saw both teams exchange blows. Morrice completed his hat trick with goals at 5:40 of the frame and at the halfway mark, and Hignett notched his third of the night on the power play. Becker added another man-advantage marker for the Razorbacks, who capitalized on Regina's penalty trouble midway through the frame.

Despite being outshot 50-26 after two periods, Weyburn stayed ahead with a 9-7 lead thanks to Charlton’s stellar play between the pipes. Charlton would go on to face 76 shots in total, turning aside 66.

Hignett’s fourth goal of the night, assisted by Samuel Borschowa, who recorded five helpers in the game, came early in the third period and gave Weyburn a 10-7 cushion. But the Chaos clawed back with three unanswered goals in the final 15 minutes. The rally was capped off by a goal from Austin Enright with 29 seconds remaining to even the scoreboard. Regina outshot Weyburn 26-5 in the final frame, forcing Charlton to make several key saves to preserve the tie.

Weyburn’s record moves to 1-7-1 on the season. With just two games remaining, the Razorbacks sit four points back of a playoff spot. Their next game is scheduled for June 20th in Moose Jaw against the Mustangs, where they’ll look to keep their postseason hopes alive.
