Carnie's Comments
Thousands of Saskatchewan people remain displaced. They are wildfire evacuees. They are elderly people who need care. They are young mothers and fathers with children and pets. They are our friends and family. They are people who need our help.
This is the Saskatchewan Day of Caring. We are asking for your donation to help these people by providing shelter, food, necessities and hope for the future.
The funds raised today go to the Canadian Red Cross. In turn, they will assist those impacted by the wildfires with immediate and ongoing support.
As we move forward, the people impacted are going to need the basics from food and clothing to hygiene supplies and money to get back on their feet. Many who are being allowed to return to their homes and communities this week are arriving to find damage and spoiled food in their refrigerators and freezers. Can you imagine?
Your donation will help. You can donate online to redcross.ca/SKDAYOFCARING or you can make a $10 donation by texting RADIO to 4-5-6-7-8.
Thank you.
