A southeast Saskatchewan woman has been sentenced to 28 months in custody after being convicted of sexual offences involving two teenage boys.

Stacey Duke, a former educational assistant at Vibank Regional School, was found guilty by a jury in March on charges that included exploitation and the distribution of sexually explicit material to minors. The offences took place in 2022, and both of the victims were students at the school.

A standard publication ban in effect means that the identities of the victims and any details about them cannot be published.

In addition to the sentence, Duke will also be listed on the national sex offender registry for 20 years. The Crown did ask for additional restrictions, but the judge declined the request, noting Duke should be allowed to reintegrate into society following her release from custody.

Duke has filed an appeal of the conviction and requested bail pending the outcome of the appeal.
