The Ste. Anne Aces continue to do what they can to remain in the Southeast Manitoba Hockey League, and after raising concerns to Hockey Manitoba, a re-vote has been ordered.

In an email from Hockey Manitoba, "(Ste. Anne) brought up concerns regarding the voting process and surrounding circumstances that were used to remove them from the SEMHL, and they are contesting that the SEMHL By-Laws and Regulations do not identify a clear process to remove a team from competition."

While it still remains murky, Hockey Manitoba has mandated a new vote take place, one that will include 9 out of the 10 teams in the league, including the Aces.

The vote to remove the Aces was held by only the original six teams.

As stated by Hockey Manitoba, "Due to the nature and importance of the outcome and the significant impact it carries, the decision will be required to carry a two-thirds vote."

The team that as of today that does not have a vote is Springfield. The reason why is that Springfield is still listed as being on probationary status within the league.

However, Hockey Manitoba has stated the SEMHL must provide information that Springfield is in fact considered on probation or "Springfield will be considered a member in good standing and will be granted full voting privileges." That information must be received by Hockey Manitoba within a week's time.

When the vote will take place remains unclear.

More information to come.

A representative for the Ste. Anne Aces will comment at a later date.
