ELROSE, Sask. — The past and present will come together this July as the community of Elrose prepares to welcome visitors home for a weekend of connection, celebration and Prairie hospitality.

The Elrose Homecoming is set for July 25–27, offering three days of events designed to appeal to all ages — from wiener roasts and photo booths to dances, parades and a high-flying motocross performance.

“Everybody’s invited,” said Dane MacDonald, chair of the Elrose Homecoming Committee. “Anyone who’s lived in Elrose or the surrounding area is encouraged to come home. There’s something for everyone.”

Festivities kick off Friday with registration at the Uniplex, a free swim, museum tours, a beer garden and a Tavern Dance at Memorial Hall. Saturday’s lineup includes a community parade, slow-pitch, a Show & Shine on Main Street, live performances, and a community supper, followed by a dance at the arena and fireworks.

One highlight of the weekend is the Global FMX freestyle motocross show on Sunday, with performances at 10 a.m., noon and 2 p.m. at the football field.

Organizers say the weekend is a celebration of Elrose’s enduring spirit — one rooted in pride, talent and neighbourly connection.

“Elrose is known for its community spirit,” MacDonald said. “This event is really going to showcase a lot of that.”
