Today, E. Bourassa and Sons and Napa Auto Parts teamed up for the Napa Tool and Equipment Event, and part of the event was a fundraising barbeque being put on by The Weyburn Young Fellows.

While many residents ate their burgers, they were not aware where the funds from this barbecue would be going, as it was a surprise for one of their team members at NAPA.

Brasen Sim, now a summer student at NAPA, was born with pulmonary stenosis, a heart defect that required surgical repairs. While he is doing better now, he and his family spent a lot of time fundraising and supporting the charity Mending Little Hearts, which helps support children living with heart conditions across Saskatchewan.

At the end of the barbecue, the team brought Brasen out for the donation part of the barbecue, with Brasen having no idea where the funds were going.

The barbeque brought in roughly $1,300, all of which is being donated to Mending Little Hearts.

Although Brasen is now an adult, he stays active in the Mending Little Hearts Community and has become a volunteer at the same camps he went to as a child, the Champs Camp. He is planning on spending time there in July.
