Sometimes I don't think our dad's get enough recognition for all the things they do to help our families do all the things they do; from coaching kids' hockey to building a deck to putting in the crop, we sometimes expect the men in our lives are superheroes who can do everything they like to do, as well as everything we ask of them!
Today, on Father's Day I wish to recognize our dads, husbands and grandpas for all the many ways they bless our families.
Hat's off to the Men in our Lives!
As mothers, daughters, partners, wives, let's lift up the menfolk in our lives.
Our dads, our hubbies, this poem to lift, in recognition of their gifts.
Here goes!
Daddy, teach me how to bat! The tire on the car is flat.
That big tree it ate my kite! Can you fix my motorbike?
Something's wrong with my electric train. The snowblower doesn't start again.
Oh dear! Oh dear! I've lost my keys. Can I borrow your truck please?
An arbor and a garden swing, a planter box, just one more thing...
The coffee makers on the blink, and something under the deck sure stinks!
Check the oil, bleed the brakes, fix the dryer, my cake won't bake.
The mower died, the tires are bald, the kindergarten teacher called.
A dripping faucet, a squeaky door, the toilet flush don't work no more.
Say! Let's go to that auction sale, but first the cows they need a bale.
Sorry, dad, don't be upset. I got the remote control all wet!
Heed your mom, eat your veggies. And yes, I found your chocolate fudgies!
Hockey practice, coaching ball. The harvest season push each Fall.
Another bill, a garden till. "Where're the bits for your electric drill?'
At the beach, help build a moat. "My fishing rod flipped off the boat!"
Chubby fingers, worms to squish. "Help me, Grandpa, catch a fish!"
Bar-b-que these steaks and wings. And help me find my wedding ring!
Honey Bun, Pooky Bear, build my garden boxes over there!
Another story, I need to have. Daddy jokes and belly laughs!
Her pudgy arms wrapped 'round his neck. 'Please don't go to work just yet ...'
"Before you close your sleepy eyes, and your smiles turn into sighs,
turn on your Noah's Ark night light, and I'll kiss you when I come home tonight."
So, of all the things we see you do, for home n' hobby, field n' farm yet too.
The things to do, the list it grows, but it's the together time we love the most!
Happy Father's Day - Happy Hubby Day - Happy Grandpa Day!
