June 14th Report:

Arrest Warrant

On June 12th at approximately 5:53PM there was a report of an intoxicated male in the 2600 block of Victoria Avenue. The male was said to be throwing things around and being verbally aggressive to those passing by. Police officers arrived and located the 37-year-old male. He was arrested on the strength of his Unendorsed Warrant for Arrest (Failure to Attend Court, Unauthorized Use of a Credit Card, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime, and Possession of Ammunition for Dangerous Purpose).

The male was held in BPS detention cells and will attend court in the morning on June 13th, 2025.

 

Assault Causing Bodily Harm / Assault by Choking

On the morning of June 12th Brandon Police Service (BPS) received a report of a 34-year-old male who when in a drunken argument with his girlfriend (32), assaulted her. Upon her attempting to leave the residence, he pinned her to the floor with his forearm across her throat and gave several elbow strikes to the face. The female’s face was noticeably bruised and swollen. Police located the male at his residence. He was arrested and later released on an Undertaking with conditions. A court date is set for August 21st, 2025.

 

IPDA (Intoxicated Persons Detention Act)

On June 13th at 1:01AM while Police were attending Brandon Regional Health Centre (BRHC) on an unrelated call, a 36-year-old male was located outside BRHC, lying on the curb. The male was intoxicated and taken inside to be medically cleared by hospital staff. He was not in a condition to care for himself and was taken to BPS and held in detention cells to be released once sober.

 

IPDA

On June 13th at 4:13AM police were called to Almond Crescent for reports of someone banging on the door. Officers attended and located an intoxicated 20-year-old female who was lost and had also thrown a sprinkler against the side of the home. The female was arrested, medically cleared and held in BPS detention cells until sober.  

June 15th Report:

Impaired Driver

On June 15, 2025, at approximately 12:30 am, police conducted a traffic stop in the 900 block of Louise Ave.  The driver failed the approved screening device and was arrested for Impaired driving.  He provided samples of his breath that were over the legal limit.  The 30-year-old male was later released to appear in court on June 23, 2025, on charges of Operation While Impaired and Operation Exceeding 80mgs%.

 

Assault Peace Officer

On June 14, 2025, shortly after 11:00 am, an intoxicated male attended to Brandon Police Service and became combative with officers when he was asked to leave.  Members then attempted to detain him, but he punched two officers during the struggle.  The officers were uninjured.  The male caused damage to a police cruiser when he kicked it, prior to being taken for medical clearance.  The 23-year-old male was lodged to appear in court today on charges of Resist Arrest, Assault Peace Officer X2 and Mischief to Property.

 

Disguise with Intent

On June 14, 2025, at approximately 12:30 pm, police responded to a report of an attempt theft from a business in the 800 block of 18th street N.  Three males wearing gloves and masks attempted to steal property when the employee intervened.  One of the males was still in the area when police arrived.  He was in possession of a pocketknife contrary to his probation conditions upon his arrest.  The 34-year-old male was lodged to appear in court today on charges of Attempt Theft Under $5000, Possess Weapon, Fail to Comply with Probation and Disguise with Intent. 

 

Assault

On June 14, 2025, shortly after 6:00 am, police responded to a report of an assault at a business in the 1000 block of 18th street.  The 20-year-old male was arrested for hitting an 18-year-old female.  She was uninjured.  He was lodged at Brandon Police Service and will appear in court.

 

Fail to Comply with Undertaking

On June 14, 2025, a complainant reported that her ex-boyfriend was contacting her contrary to the non-communication order that was in place.  The 31-year-old male was arrested and later released to appear in court on July 28, 2025, on a charge of Fail to Comply with Undertaking.

 

Disturbance at a Business

On June 14, 2025, at approximately 8:00 pm, employees from a business in the 1100 block of 18th street reported a fight between patrons.  A 17-year-old intoxicated male was found to be the main cause of the issues.  He was lodged at Brandon Police Service to prevent the situation from escalating.  He will be released to a parent after he receives a fine for consuming liquor as a minor.

 

Other arrests

Three adults were arrested in separate incidents over the last 24 hours and lodged until sober to be released without any charges.
