Estevan Fire Rescue's latest calls from over the week showed off some of the work done in the community.
First, on June 9, a crew was dispatched to a vehicle fire at 8:55 p.m. in the Northeast area of the city. The crew found that the vehicle was suffering a minor electrical fire, which was extinguished. Minor damage to the vehicle was reported from the fire.
Then, on June 10, a crew went to respond to a commercial fire alarm in the Northwest area of the city at 11:46 a.m. The crew found that the alarm had been caused by maintenance work being performed on the HVAC system, and no emergency was occurring.
The next call came in on June 13 at 3:35 p.m. when a crew was dispatched to a vehicle fire on Highway 47 near Benson. Crews extinguished the fire without incident. No injuries reported, though the vehicle did suffer major damage.
The last call of the week was June 14, when a crew was sent to investigate a possible structure fire in the Northeast area of the city at 1:52 p.m.Upon arrival, the crew found that no emergency was occurring. Crews responded again at 4:20 p.m., finding a gas detector active and once again no emergency occurring. The home is set to be investigated by a contractor to check for potential issues.
Aside from calls, EFR also performed a spray down for the kids on June 13 at Pleasantdale School and also took part in a parade on June 13th.
