The Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency (SPSA) has announced it lifted the provincial fire ban yesterday, due to recent rainfall and cooler temperatures across the region.

The lifted ban applies to all Crown lands, provincial parks, and recreation sites located north of the provincial forest boundary up to the Churchill River, including the Northern Saskatchewan Administration District.

While the provincial fire ban is being rescinded, the SPSA is reminding the public that individual municipalities, rural municipalities (R.M.s), and provincial parks may still have local fire bans or restrictions in place.

Residents and visitors are encouraged to check for local updates.

Fire restriction information for provincial parks and recreation sites,

along with an interactive fire ban map, is available at saskpublicsafety.ca.

Local authorities are advised to continue monitoring fire conditions and implement restrictions where necessary to ensure public safety.

To report a wildfire, call 1-800-667-9660 or dial 911.

The SPSA, a Treasury Board Crown corporation established in 2017, is responsible for wildfire management, emergency services, Sask911, SaskAlert, the Civic Addressing Registry, the Provincial Disaster Assistance Program, and fire safety initiatives.
