The Souris Valley Museum is launching a full season of family-friendly events, starting with Heritage Fun Day on June 21. Director Melanie Memory joined the SUN 102 Morning Show to share what’s ahead — from cultural celebrations to summer camps and a $2,500 raffle.

What’s happening at the Souris Valley Museum this summer

Heritage Fun Day – June 21

  • Free family event from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Traditional Métis lunch (hamburger soup and bannock) by donation
  • Wagon rides, petting zoo, face painting, kids crafts, museum tours, and heritage games
  • Hosted at the Souris Valley Museum, 2082 Highway #39 West, Estevan

Kick Off to Summer Party – June 26

  • Joint event with Estevan Early Years Family Resource Centre
  • 4:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at 255 Spruce Drive
  • Activities include face painting, petting zoo, bouncy castles, touch-a-truck, and outdoor play stations
  • Cold treats, cotton candy, and taco-in-a-bag available for purchase (proceeds support local charities)

50/50 Raffle – Win up to $2,500

  • Tickets: $5 each
  • On sale: June 10 – July 1
  • Draw date: July 3
  • Half the pot goes to one winner; the other half supports museum exhibits and programming
