Environment Canada has issued a severe thunderstorm watch around parts of central Alberta.
Conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms that may be capable of producing strong wind gusts and large hail.
Residents are urged to go indoors at the first sound of thunder, as lightning kills and injures Canadians every year.
Strong wind gusts can damage trees, buildings and overturn vehicles.
Large hail can cause significant damage and injury.
