Melfort RCMP has charged two individuals following an investigation that determined a truck they were in control of damaged police vehicles in the Melfort RCMP detachment parking lot.
Melfort RCMP received a report on June 16 at approximately 9:30 pm that a truck was striking vehicles at the detachment.
Officers immediately responded. Investigation determined a truck was driving around the area erratically and struck three parked police vehicles and two dumpsters.
The male driver then exited the truck. A female passenger got in the driver’s seat and drove away.
The male initially resisted but was arrested a short time later. Officers located the truck nearby and arrested the female.
As a result of continued investigation, 45-year-old Terrance Whitehead from Saskatoon is charged with:
- one count, operate a conveyance in a manner that was dangerous to the public,
- one count, operate a conveyance while impaired by drugs, and
- one count, resisting arrest.
The adult female is charged with one count of operating a conveyance while impaired by drugs.
Both appeared in Melfort Provincial Court on June 17. A Saskatchewan RCMP collision reconstructionist assisted with this investigation.
