High River sends out warning about rainfall coming

We're getting a lot of rain this weekend.

According to Environment Canada, the rain is expected to start this Friday and last through the weekend.

The High River Protective Services issued a warning on the Town of High River's social media on Tuesday afternoon.

A storm is being forecast to bring between 100 and 150 mm of rain.

The town is currently monitoring the Highwood River levels, as they do every spring, and the current river levels are well below average.

Last Friday, June 13, the flow rate was at 8.52 cubic metres per second and the average ranges from 25 to 65 cubic metres per second.

However, there will be concerns as this Friday, June 20, is the anniversary of the 2013 flood.
