She is the first woman to hold a full-time coaching position in the National Hockey League and she's embracing the opportunity.
Jessica Campbell grew up playing hockey in Rocanville, Saskatchewan, competing at the highest levels, representing our province at national championships and our country internationally.
After four full seasons at Cornell University and three seasons playing pro with the Calgary Inferno of the now defunct CWHL, she played in Sweden for one season and then stepped away from playing and began her journey into coaching in 2020.
It's a story hockey fans around the world have been following and one she shared this week at the Canadian Tire Moose Jaw Golf Classic at the local Hillcrest Club.
Campbell's time back home in Saskatchewan will include a similar event, one that is her own, in the inaugural Prairie Built Golf Classic in her hometown in just a few weeks.
We talked about her budding coaching career, coming back to her roots, the upcoming event and much more.
Have a listen.
