Statement from Brandon Police Chief Tyler Bates:
"As the search for Owen Bedford continues, I want to assure the public that we are using every available resource in our efforts. Our Major Crimes Unit remains actively engaged, investigating with urgency and care. Today, K9 teams are on the ground again and officers are operating drones in new areas as we follow every possible lead.
We have confirmed which taxi company picked Owen up from Houston’s Country Roadhouse on Saturday night. Unfortunately, that lead ended when we learned he was dropped off near Giant Tiger just a few blocks east on Victoria Avenue.
We continue to ask for the community’s continued support to help us find that next piece of the puzzle in terms of Owen’s direction of travel. Security and doorbell camera footage is key in establishing details of which may be instrumental in this investigation.
Evidence that establishes a confirmed and strategic direction of travel, would assist police, search and rescue and volunteers in their continued efforts. A confirmed location and direction of travel would inform specialized search and rescue resources and assist in ongoing search efforts. Brandon Police Service is appreciative of the sustained community support and volunteer efforts in this search, and we remain fully committed to bringing Owen home and stand with his family during this incredibly difficult time."
