There is a rainfall warning in effect for the Foothills this weekend, but there is still plenty of things to do around Okotoks.
It's expected to rain upwards of 80 mm by Saturday evening, but that won't halt the fun, so let's see what's happening this weekend:
Friday, June 20:
Over at the Environmental Education Centre, they will dive into Alberta's grasslands from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. as part of Nature Fridays. There will be buffalo themed crafts and educational videos that will teach about the grasslands, native plants and animals and their connection to Indigenous People.
Friday nights are Youth Night at the Okotoks Rec Centre, and people aged 12 to 18 are able to swing by the Rec Centre and enjoy the gymnasium and pool until 10 p.m. and the Youth Centre until 11 p.m. and is free for them to attend.
At Seaman Stadium, the Okotoks Dawgs are taking on the Brooks Bombers for the second night in a row, with the first pitch happening at 7:05 p.m.
There will be a jam session at the Okotoks Seniors Club, starting at 7 p.m.
Saturday, June 21:
In the Sheep River Park, the Sheep River parkrun is starting at 9 a.m., and people can run, walk, or volunteer.
The Town of Okotoks is hosting a National Indigenous Peoples Day Pipe Ceremony from 10 a.m. to noon at the Okotoks Library.
The Foothills Advocacy In Motion Society (FAIM) is hosting a Spring Craft Market from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Okotoks FAIM office at 325 Woodgate Road.
At the Okotoks Public Library, they will be hosting a Dungeons and Dragons adventure from 2 to 4:30 p.m. and is open to all experience levels.
The Okotoks Dawgs will be taking on the Lethbridge Bulls , with the first pitch at 7:05 p.m.
The Okotoks Elks Club is hosting their regular meat draws and perogy lunch, with food being dished out at noon.
Sunday, June 22:
The Okotoks Dawgs are taking on the Lethbridge Bulls at Seaman Stadium, starting at 2:05 p.m.
