During the week of June 8th to 15th, the Weyburn Polic Service responded to 88 calls for service. They sent a release detailing notable incidents from the week.
On Tuesday, June 10th, WPS officers responded to a report of a collision at the intersection of Highway 39 and Third Street. The vehicles involved were a truck and a mobility scooter. Upon arrival they found the elderly driver with minor injuries, and significant damage to the scooter. He was transported to the hospital for further care. After investigation, it was determined that no one was at fault and no tickets were issued.

Early in the morning that Thursday, the WPS received a report of a person dressed entirely in black, slashing vehicle and trailer tires. In total, five tires were damaged. The resulting investigation is ongoing

The last week also saw the WPS make progress in an investigation surrounding circulating counterfeit $100 bills, following the recent release of a public awareness bulletin. Two suspects were identified and charged for allegedly knowingly using counterfeit bills. They will both appear in Weyburn Provincial Court in the coming months.

Throughout the week, police arrested six adults for public intoxication. Each person was held in custody until sober and released without incident.
They also responded to eight mental health and well being calls. Two of those incidents required the people to be transported to the hospital for care and assessment.
