Another local municipality has pledged support to the Southwest Facility Foundation.

The R.M. of Saskatchewan Landing No. 167 has committed $100,000 to the foundation, bringing their total raised or committed to over $4 million.

"It's just awesome that they had the foresight to think about that they'd have members of their R.M. that would be using a facility we need so much," said SWFF Board Member Jim Jones. "We're approaching all the R.M.s, villages, and towns within an hour to see if they would consider donating in some way, or just knowing about the Southwest Facility Foundation."

He believes support from surrounding municipalities aids their grant applications.

"We've found that other communities that were able to get grants from provincial and federal governments," Jones said. "When they had support from regional partners, they were more successful in their grant applications."

The R.M. of Saskatchewan Landing joins the R.M. of Swift Current as a local R.M. supporting the cause.
