A Texas-grown country artist will be featured in Swift Current this coming weekend for a boot-scootin show at Frontier Days.

Drake Milligan is set to take centre stage in the Grandstand at 8:30 p.m. on Saturday evening for a show with The Brothers G.

Milligan shared that he initially was signed up to compete in American Idol in 2017,  not long after completing high school, but withdrew after realizing he needed time to find himself as an artist.

"I grew up on a lot of the classic country music and listening to stuff my parents listened to, like 90s country, George Strait, Alan Jackson, and Randy Travis, they were kind of my first loves of music," he said. "Then I discovered who Elvis was and that got me wanting to be an entertainer, and I kind of followed that dream all throughout while I was a kid."

After spending several years in Nashville, Milligan felt ready to take on a big stage and such a huge audience when the opportunity to take part in America's Got Talent arose a couple of years ago.

"We like to have a lot of fun, everybody has a ton of fun on stage," he added. "You'll be able to hear our songs, and we try to play some classics that people can sing along to, and we might even do a little sneak peek into some new songs."

Anyone interested in more information about Milligan and his music can visit him on social media, check out his songs on major streaming platforms, or head to drakemilligan.com.

Advanced ticket sales ended June 20. Tickets will still be available at the door.
