Visitors to Sawatzky’s Furniture & Appliances in Winkler are in for a big surprise. Owner Layal Jadhav shares that it’s a complete reimagining of the appliance department.

“Brand new, exciting, beautifully curated kitchens”

“We've transformed our entire appliance department. We've done brand new kitchens, we've added new product to the floor, we've expanded,” Jadhav says. “So absolutely brand new, exciting, beautifully curated kitchens.”

Instead of rows of individual appliances, customers now walk through fully realized kitchen setups. “You can really visualize what it would look like in your own home,” she says. “It gives that exciting... wow factor. If you come in looking for a range, maybe you leave with the whole kitchen because it looks so good.”

Jadhav emphasizes the importance of seeing appliances in a real-life context. “You don’t see the sides of your fridges or your range. It’s already put into the cabinets... it really gives that wow factor.”

New appliance trends

Sawatzky’s also features several cutting-edge appliances that haven’t been seen in the region before.

“LG's newest introduction is their White Essence line, which is a beautiful matte white high-end kitchen. You’ve got the option of changing the handles—gold, brass, all different types of options,” Jadhav shares.

She also highlights an upcoming release from Frigidaire: “Their newest ovens... will come with a pizza stone and heat up to 700°F. So you can make a pizza in your own home, get that wood-fired taste in under three minutes.”

Fans of Bosch will also have more to love. “They've now added an entry-level price point to their lineup... you get that beautiful look they offer at a great price point.”

Thursday night open house: See it all and win a kitchen

To celebrate the transformation, Sawatzky Furniture & Appliances in Winkler hosts an open house on Thursday, June 26th, from 7:00 to 9:00 PM.

“Come and join us for some chef-prepared appetizers in our live kitchen,” Jadhav invites. “We'll be doing some live cooking—that’s done by Chef Greg. And then we’ve got 7 Pines coming to do some beautiful music for us.”

The evening also includes baristas crafting custom martinis using SMEG machines, plus multiple giveaways—including one major prize.

“The biggest package is to win a kitchen,” Jadhav says. “If you come to the event, come sign up, put your name in the hat, and you could win an LG four-piece kitchen package.”

RSVP encouraged

Jadhav kindly encourages guests to RSVP. “I don't want anyone to leave without trying an appetizer or a little something in their belly... it's just good for me to know how much to buy and how much to prepare for.”

She adds that this is only the beginning. “I'm really hoping that we can do even smaller-scale events too... It's just nice to have the freedom to be able to say yes.”
