Airdrie is no longer under a fire advisory, according to the Alberta Fire Bans map, which was updated on Tuesday.

The advisory was lifted one day after Rocky View County ended its own countywide fire advisory.

Airdrie had been under a fire advisory since May 30.

Environment Canada says Tuesday’s forecast includes sunny skies near noon, followed by a mix of sun and cloud with a 60 per cent chance of showers in the afternoon. There is a risk of a thunderstorm. Winds will become southeast at 20 km/h, gusting to 40, and the high is expected to reach 21 degrees. The UV index is 7, or high.

Tonight, the agency says there is a 60 per cent chance of evening showers with a continued risk of thunderstorms. Winds from the southeast at 20 km/h will become light in the evening. The overnight low is forecast to be 8 degrees.

Wednesday will bring a mix of sun and cloud, becoming cloudy near noon with a 30 per cent chance of afternoon showers. There is a risk of a thunderstorm. Winds are expected to become west at 20 km/h, gusting to 40. The daytime high is forecast to reach 21 degrees, with a UV index of 6, or high.

Overnight Wednesday, the forecast calls for cloudy skies with a 60 per cent chance of showers and a low of 9.

Thursday’s forecast includes a mix of sun and cloud with a 30 per cent chance of showers. The high is expected to reach 20 degrees. Thursday night will bring cloudy periods and a 30 per cent chance of showers, with a low of 9.

On Friday, Environment Canada expects cloudy conditions with a 60 per cent chance of showers and a high of 17. The risk of showers continues Friday night under cloudy periods, with a low of 5.

Saturday will bring a mix of sun and cloud with a 30 per cent chance of showers. The high is forecast at 18 degrees. Saturday night, the 60 per cent chance of showers returns under cloudy periods, with a low of 8.

A mix of sun and cloud is forecast for Sunday, with a high of 21. The same is expected Monday, with a high of 24.

Environment Canada reports that rainfall over the weekend totalled 72 millimetres in the area.
