Nickle Lake Regional Park will bring the fun once again this year for anyone to celebrate Canada Day in style, with a full day of fun things planned for this Tuesday, July 1st, including some staples and some new features.
It all kicks off with a fun annual tradition for the kids at the park - the bike parade.
"Anybody who wants to get on the bike line up at 9:45 a.m., down at the Beaver Den, we'll go through the entire park," invited Park Manager Darren Wheeler.
Once the parade is concluded, the bikes will line up near the Beaver Den for judging and prizes.
Kids can also do crafts at the Beaver Den from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The Soo Line Cruisers will have a car show on display from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., alongside the Farmers Market running at the same time.
Wheeler said they have more than 25 vendors coming out for the market, which is always a big hit for visitors and regulars at the park.
The site-decorating contest will also get some judging that day, for those who are staying at the park and want to deck out their sites with Canada Day decor in hopes of winning one of three top prizes.
A new feature this year will be Bingo in the Beer Gardens from 3 to 5 p.m.
Wheeler noted they've been holding Bingo on Thursday nights at the park as part of a fundraising initiative, and it has been well-enjoyed by those in attendance.
