Wolf Creek Public Schools has announced the appointment of Vanessa Howey as the new assistant principal of Clive School.

Howey is a long-time and well-respected educator within the school and the broader Clive community. Her dedication to students, staff and families is reflected in the many roles she has held over the years, including classroom teacher across various grade levels, First Nations, Métis and Inuit (FNMI) teacher lead, and most recently, acting administrator.

Earlier this school year, Howey stepped into the role of acting assistant principal. Her strong leadership, calm presence and deep understanding of the school’s needs left a lasting impression on both staff and the wider school community.

“Vanessa brings a wealth of experience, a collaborative spirit and a genuine commitment to student success,” said Sonja Dykslag, assistant superintendent of people services. “Her leadership during her time as acting assistant principal was exceptional, and we are thrilled to see her take on this role permanently.”

Howey’s commitment to professional development is evident in her participation in the division’s Aspiring Leaders program and her recent acceptance into the Master of Education program at the University of Ottawa.

“I feel incredibly honoured to step into this role at Clive School,” said Howey. “This school and community have been such a meaningful part of my journey as an educator. I’m excited to continue working alongside an amazing team to support students, staff and families in new and meaningful ways.”
