It was triple the fun at an expanded musical showcase presented by Edward Allen of Cochrane Drum Tutor.
Building on the success of last year’s hit recital, John, Paul, George and 30 Ringos, Allen added two more events and moved the celebration to the larger Cochrane Lions Event Centre. Hundreds of people flowed through the venue from early afternoon until evening.
"It was quite a step forward for us, and the feedback has been terrific," said Allen.
The day opened with a youth talent show featuring 10 performers, followed by a drum recital with 36 musicians. It all wrapped up with an open jam session.

Ever the perfectionist in his creative efforts for the music community, Allen is letting the experience settle in—but he’s already thinking about ways to improve the event for next year.
"There's lots and lots of learning for me, which we’ll definitely take time to unpack. Overall, I'm happy with the day, and people seemed to have fun."
The fact that he's already looking ahead to a possible repeat in 2026 is good news for Cochrane’s music scene.
Allen also gave a shoutout to the Treblemakers for taking on the complex task of backing up the drummers.
"Not only are they great musicians, but the Treblemakers were incredibly gracious—just like the Beatles-themed band the year before. They really got the assignment when it came to working with the kids. They flexed when they needed to flex, shifted tempo smoothly—I couldn’t have asked for more from them."
Allen says one of the biggest challenges is finding bands willing to take on the unique demands of performing with the drummers. He’s reached out to upward of 50 groups until the Treblemakers, twice voted the most popular band in the Bow Valley, stepped forward and hit it out of the park.
Bravo! Can't wait until next year's event.
