The City of Moose Jaw and the Moose Jaw and District Chamber of Commerce have named Beverly and Yogi Arnold as the Notoriously Good Neighbours for June.
The Arnolds were nominated by Kalie Seidlitz for regularly helping others in the neighbourhood, whether it’s caring for pets or taking out garbage and recycling bins.
Seidlitz, who said she has no immediate family in Moose Jaw, is especially grateful for the couple’s kindness.
“[They] have felt like the missing piece and are people we can ultimately depend on in case of an emergency. It is something we try not to take for granted, but are extremely grateful for because not everyone gets to experience what it's like to have neighbours like them,” Seidlitz said in her nomination.
She added that the couple takes great pride in their home and maintains an eye-catching yard.
“They're often up early, tending to the landscaping, watering plants, and ensuring that their property contributes to the overall beauty of the neighborhood. Their hard work doesn’t go unnoticed, and it certainly elevates the curb appeal of the entire block,” she said.
As recognition for being named Notoriously Good Neighbours, the Arnolds received gift certificates to the Tunnels of Moose Jaw.
The Notoriously Good Neighbour program was launched by the city and the chamber to recognize residents who make a positive difference in their communities.
Nominations can be submitted through the “Report an Issue” feature at www.moosejaw.ca or the City of Moose Jaw mobile app.
