Severe weather continues to target the southwest.

Environment and Climate Change Canada received several reports from the region, including Val Marie, of hail on Wednesday afternoon.

"We had some hail reports come in from a line of storms that extended all the way up to the Battlefords and then all the way south to the Montana border, including Swift Current," said Crawford Luke, a meteorologist with Environment and Climate Change Canada. "We saw a lot of hail reports in that pea to dime-sized, so 1 centimetre in diameter, nothing too major that we know of."

Precipitation was spotty in most areas, with no weather station in the southwest recording any. However, according to Environment Canada's radar estimates, the Success, Leinan, and Main Centre area received five millimetres.

"I took a look at some radar estimates because sometimes they can fill in the gaps," he said. "If you're just north of Swift Current, there's a nice patch here."

Thunderstorm risks are expected to continue in the southwest through Saturday in the southwest.
