The 2025 Frontier Days Parade has its marshal for Saturday.
Archie Green, a long-time Docs Town volunteer, has been bestowed the title of Frontier Days Parade Marshal. He has already begun in the role, having burned the brand at the W.W. Smith Pancake Breakfast to mark the start of the fair.
"It was a real surprise (to be chosen)," said Green. "It's quite an honour, and I also think a little humbling."
Green has been a long-time staple at the portable train station in Doc's Town, helping preserve the history found within. He is also a long-time member of the Swift Current Scouts, going back 75 years as both a youth member and a leader.
"We're going to have some Scouts in the parade," said Green. "They're going to be right behind the main car because I've been with this troupe for 75 years and I know all these kids."
People will be able to wave to Green during the parade, as he rides in the Frontier Days Cadillac. They can also find him at Doc's Town during the summer, where he enjoys volunteering as the station master at the portable train station.
"There's a good committee behind everything, so I'm pretty lucky I don't have to be too concerned," said Green.
