Flapjacks, sausage, coffee and just a little bit of rain were on the menu at J&S Tire in Swift Current this morning.
The third annual J&S Tire pancake breakfast saw a few raindrops in with the pancakes being cooked up by Swift Current Ride for Dad. Even with the precipitation, people still came out for their griddle-made morning meal.
Tony Buckmeier, co-owner of J&S Tire, is happy to host the event for the fun of it and to support Swift Current Ride for Dad.

"We just thought Flapjack Friday would be a nice addition to the festivities for Frontier Days," said Buckmeier. "Just something for the community to come out and have a little bit of nourishment before heading over to the fairgrounds."
While the food was enjoyed by the diners, there was the issue of the weather. Intermittent spitting rain had a few folks run to their vehicles for jackets and hats, but most were happy to cool off in the precipitation and enjoy their plates.
Buckmeier himself says it's just an added bonus for any farmers joining them for breakfast.

"We do that to help out all of our farm and ranch people," joked Buckmeier. "We always have a little bit of rain with our pancakes."
He is hopeful that in the future, more businesses will join in with J&S Tire and W.W. Smith Insurance to host pancake breakfasts for Frontier Days.
Anyone who has questions about the pancake breakfast, or who would like to make a donation during next year's edition to Swift Current Ride for Dad is encouraged to call the J&S Tire front desk.
