Looking for something to do this weekend? Here is a list of five events that are happening in and around Moose Jaw this weekend.
Canada Day Fireworks, Saturday
This year’s Kinsmen Canada Day fireworks will be held at Hamilton Flats on Saturday instead of Canada Day to better accommodate families as well as staffing.
The fireworks are expected to start around 10 p.m.
Marquis Sports Day, Saturday
Come check out the annual Sports Day events in Marquis on Saturday. There will be a slo-pitch tournament, kid’s activities, a show ‘n’ shine, concessions, beer gardens and more.
Prairie Percheron will be offering wagon rides. Second Wynd will be providing live entertainment sponsored by SaskTel. The festivities get underway around noon on Saturday.
Admission to take it all in is free. However, donations to the Marquis and Area Community Association are welcome. All of the funds raised go back into recreation and community events in Marquis.
Truck-A-Palooza Family Fun Day, Saturday
Truck-A-Palooza will be taking place at the Town ‘N’ Country Mall from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
It’s fun for the whole family as you get to hear and see a variety of vehicles and large equipment.
There will also be a craft station, face painting, snacks and more. Sensory sensitive hours will be from 11 a.m. to noon.
Take A Ride On The Short Line, Sunday
The Western Development Museum’s K+S Short Line 101, Saskatchewan’s only operating steam locomotive, will be running on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Capacity is limited, and the train is weather, mechanical, and volunteer dependent.
Ticket prices are $7 plus tax for individuals, or $20 plus tax for a family or small group up to two adults or seniors and up to three youth or children. Additional adults, seniors, students, or children will be admitted at the individual price
Tickets can be purchased at the WDM visitor services counter.
Sukanen Flea Market, Sunday
The Sukanen Ship Pioneer Village and Museum’s fourth annual Outdoor Flea Market and Swap Meet is taking place on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Check out some of the antiques, collectibles, vintage vehicle and tractor parts, garage sale items and more. It will all be taking place near the museum grain elevator.
A cash concession will also be available. Regular museum admission will apply.
