Fred Sandeski will be moving into long-term care at the Weyburn Special Care Home as of July 6th following a third assessment program appeal to the Ministry of Health.
In a post on social media, Fred's wife, Teresa, thanked everyone in the community who has supported their efforts to obtain this option for Fred, who had to leave his room at the care home this spring when funding ran out for his care.
"It's been a long haul, but Fred has been approved for long-term care," shared Teresa.
"We feel that we have won this, but we haven't won everything that needs to be done to change for all seniors. Even though he will be at the Special Care Home, we will be canvassing for signatures to petition before Government legislation for change in their policy and procedures and how assessment programs need to be changed."
