A dream years in the making came roaring to life in southern Manitoba as Activate Motocross Ministry hosted its first ride day over the weekend.
Founder Kevin Nolt says around 30 to 35 riders came out to the track near Homewood on Saturday, ranging from kids on mini bikes to adults on larger machines.
“It turned out really good,” Nolt shared in an interview with CHVN. “I’m just happy to see that people enjoyed it and that they’re looking forward to doing more.”
The afternoon featured motocross riding, a barbecue meal, a video presentation, and Nolt’s personal testimony about how God led him to launch the ministry.

“People came up and talked to me about how excited and happy they were that something like this has started,” he said. “It was really encouraging to hear.”
The event grew out of a vision Nolt carried for more than a decade, inspired in part by similar ministries in the United States. He says bringing motocross and faith together is about creating fellowship and helping people see that “motocross and Jesus is a good thing.”
Nolt admitted he was nervous in the days leading up to the launch. “It’s a scary thing,” he said. “But if you pray and read your Bible, talk to people at your church or a mentor you have, and step out in faith, it can work out.”
With the first ride day now in the books, Activate is already planning the next event for July 19.
“It’s a fun time—fellowship and riding,” Nolt says. “Just bring people out who want to have fun with dirt bikes and Jesus.”
