The Completely Branded RentPro Weyburn Razorbacks played their final home game of the season Saturday night, as they entertained the Regina Chaos. Regina would come away with the win, beating the Razorbacks 18-3 at the Tom Zandee Sports Arena.

The loss cemented a winless home record for the Razorbacks and confirmed their absence from the postseason. Weyburn has one last chance to close the season on a positive note when they travel to Saskatoon to face the SWAT on Thursday night.

Despite the lopsided score, head coach Keenan Cummings said he saw signs of progress in what has been a difficult rebuilding year.

“You know what, it's been a long year, it's been a lot of learning this year,” Cummings said postgame. “I think for players, coaches, I think as an organization, you know, we know where we're at now and can only go up from here hopefully.”

Regina’s Avery Sewell led the charge with six goals and four assists, while Caleb Singer-Scherle added four goals and two helpers of his own. The Chaos jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the first and never looked back, dominating all three periods with a relentless pace.

Weyburn’s offence came to life briefly in the second, with Wyatt Mickler, Nash Hignett, and Brody Morrice each finding the back of the net. Cummings also noted the team had actually generated more offensive chances than in any game this season.

“We did have the most shots we've had all year,” Cummings said. “So, I think it shows that when we implement our systems, they work, but it's just implementing our system for a full game.”

The matchup also turned physical in the late stages, with multiple penalties, game misconducts, and a fight in the dying minutes reflecting the frustration on both sides.

“It's part of the game, right?” Cummings said of the third-period melee. “But I think, you know, it's just one of those things that happens on the floor, stays on the floor and, you know, coming to next year, we let this year go and move into next year as a new year.”

The Razorbacks will wrap up their season Thursday night in Saskatoon, hoping to lay the groundwork for a stronger 2026 campaign.
