Communities across the southeast are getting ready for a busy Canada Day with a number of activities planned in towns and villages around the area.

Estevan

Here in Estevan, the local Kinettes Club will be holding its annual celebration, beginning at 11 a.m. at Kin Hillside Park. The food served at the event will include hotdogs, cake, and other treats, while there will be a bouncy castle, paddling pool, and music over the Canada Day celebrations.

Hidden Valley Golf and RV Resort west of Estevan hosts a parade tonight, starting at 7 p.m. at the saloon in the campground.

Bienfait

Bienfait will play host to a large celebration, with their day beginning at 7 a.m. with a pancake breakfast at the Bienfait Memorial Arena. They'll then start up a parade at 10 a.m., which begins at Bienfait Weldon School. The parade will proceed east along Carbon Avenue and head through the community before it ends again at the school. Also at 10 a.m., the  Bienfait Coalfields Museum will be open.

Following the parade, a cakewalk will take place at Hammet Bay, along with Bingo held at the Bienfait Branch of the Royal Canadian Legion. The Legion will also be selling hamburgers and hotdogs on their front lawn. The Garden Party will start playing music at 11 a.m. while the stonie swim begins at noon at the town's swimming pool.

Multiple setups will be at the Canada Day event from Canuckade, including a bounce house, an octagon ring, human foosball/soccer, axe throwing, and more.

 

First pitch for the firefighters and farmers' annual ball game is set for 3 p.m. at the town's ball diamonds. Conner Piche will put on a performance at 4 p.m., with a talent show starting soon after at 5 p.m. at the Bienfait Memorial Arena. 

The day will end in Bienfait with fireworks, beginning at dusk.

Mainprize

Mainprize Regional Park starts up their day with a free pancake breakfast at 8 a.m. at Pedersen Place. Beginning at 10 a.m., the park will host bouncy castles, life-sized horseshoes, other games, and a sand castle contest at the beach. Following breakfast, an artisan market will begin at 10 a.m. at Pedersen Place.

A cart parade rolls through the park at 2 p.m., with p[participants asked to meet at the maintenance building 30 minutes prior. Attendees will be able to snack on free hotdogs and marshmallows at the Mainprize beach at 4 p.m. Mainprize will also end their day with fireworks at dusk.

Oungre

The Oungre Memorial Regional Park begins its pancake breakfast at 8:30 a.m. A few events begin at 10 a.m., including antique tractors, a car show and shine, and children's pirate treasure activities. A parade will follow afterward at 11 a.m. A bouncy house will follow that, along with a music jamboree at 1 p.m. and a longest drive competition at 2 p.m.

Taco in a bag and pulled pork are set to be served at 11:30 a.m., with free ice cream sundaes at 2 p.m. The end of the day will again see fireworks at dusk in Oungre.

Oxbow

Oxbow's activities begin with their own pancake breakfast at the Oxbow Legion at 9 a.m., followed shortly by a parade beginning at the Memorial Hall at 11 a.m. Bow Valley Park is home to much of the remaining events with a children's magician show, bouncy castles, face painting, children's activities, canoeing, and kayaking all set for 1 p.m., along with a cornhole tournament and beer gardens at 1:30 p.m., a children's magician and birthday cake at 2 p.m.
