Alberta Health Services lifted a closure order for a restaurant in Beiseker on June 27, one day after ordering it closed.

The June 27 risk management inspection (publically available) confirmed that the closure order issued on June 26 for Beefsteak Restaurant & Bar had been lifted.

According to the digital AHS inspection records, that June 2025 closure order is the only one listed for the location, based on reports dating back to September 2022.

AHS documents state that several items cited in the June 26 inspection had been addressed. The June 27 inspection also recorded a number of non-critical items as “not in compliance,” with a follow-up noted.

As of June 30, the restaurant no longer appears on the Calgary Zone Health Enforcement Orders list.

On its inspection portal, Alberta Health Services notes that public health inspectors operate under the Public Health Act to ensure compliance with provincial legislation. AHS states:

“For each facility inspection posted on this website, there is a list of unsafe practices, known as violations, noted by the public health inspector during the inspection… Safe practices are not listed, therefore, a full complete picture of the inspection is not posted online.”

“If a facility creates or maintains a violation, AHS may issue a work/repair or closure order, or take other legal actions.”

AHS health enforcement orders are publically available via the AHS website
