The Weyburn Agricultural Society’s Interclub 4-H Beef Show and Sale wrapped up Wednesday at the Souris Valley Industries Show and Sale Arena. The day capped off what is being considered a success 4-H Days for the Agricultural Society. 

The day began with the Interclub Female Show. Farrah Gustafson of the Cymri Beef 4-H Club showed the Champion Cloverbud Heifer, while Hannah Lees from the Arcola Kisbey Beef 4-H Club exhibited the Champion Heifer. Zayne Labatte of the Radville Beef 4-H Club showed both the Champion Two-Year-Old Cow-Calf Pair and the Overall Grand Champion Female. Ryder Fellner from the Weyburn Beef 4-H Club earned recognition for the Champion Three-Year-Old Cow-Calf Pair and received the Breeder’s Herd Award. 

In the afternoon, the Interclub Livestock Sale featured 131 fed calves and 21 market lambs. The Grand Champion Fed Calf, shown by Rylan Fladeland of the Radville Beef 4-H Club, was sold to RY Trail Veterinary Services for $8.00 per pound. The Reserve Champion, exhibited by Brayden Fladeland, also of Radville, was purchased by Labatte Simmentals for $5.00 per pound. 

The Market Lamb competition also drew strong interest, with Cole Gordon of the Weyburn Sheep 4-H Club exhibiting the Grand Champion Market Lamb, which Souris Valley Industries purchased for $1,500. The Reserve Champion Market Lamb, shown by Jack Wright of Weyburn, was purchased by Wilgenbusch Charolais for $1,700.
