Irma Leona Zerbin
September 7, 1926 – June 29, 2025

Irma was born on September 7, 1926, on the family farm near Jansen to Ferdinand and Otillie (Schinkel) Biedler. She grew up on the farm, attended church and Sunday School through the years and participated in Luther League activities. She worked at various jobs: such as waitressing and managing the Dafoe post office during the war years. She married Albert Zebrin and had two sons, Garth and Marvin. They farmed for thirteen years, until Albert became ill and passed away. Mom later sold the farm and then married Herbert Zerbin on October 30, 1958, and had a daughter Coleen. They continued to farm for several years near Dafoe and moved to Humboldt in 1977. Mom worked for the Co-op store in the cafeteria for several years, we’ve been told my many that she made the best milkshakes!! Following the Co-op Irma began working at the Dairy Queen where she continued to share her tasty milkshakes.  Irma later began employment at St. Mary’s Villa cooking in the kitchen for 10 years. Upon retirement she continued her passions of gardening and canning along with her hobbies of crocheting and embroidery. She was also a very talented baker; she made the best breads and buns and sometimes donuts!!  Another favourite past time was card playing as she was a formidable partner in her favourite game called “Hollow”. In 2014 Irma sold her home in Humboldt and moved into Caleb Village and spent the remainder of her years socializing and loved her many friends, especially their weekly trips for coffee and ice cream at the Dairy Queen.

Irma will be lovingly remembered for her infectious smile and humour and will be sadly missed and by her three children, eight grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren:
