Vulcan County and parts of Foothills County are under another heat warning again today.
All of Vulcan County and Foothills County near Blackie are under a heat warning, due to the temperatures expected today.
Temperatures are expected to be near 30 degrees Celsius today, but more moderate temperatures are expected to roll in on Friday.
Environment Canada is advising those who are in the areas with the heat warning to take precautions to protect themselves, such as rescheduling outdoor activities to cooler times of the day, taking frequent breaks from the heat and spending time in cooled indoor spaces when possible, as well as drinking plenty of water and other non-caffeinated or non-alcoholic beverages.
Also, check for children and pets before leaving your vehicle.
At times when the temperatures are high, monitor for symptoms of heat stroke or heat exhaustion, including high body temperature, lack of sweat, confusion, fainting, or unconsciousness.
Environment Canada is also reminding people to pay particular attention to individuals that are more susceptible to the heat, such as infants, children, seniors, and anyone with pre-existing lung, heart, kidney, nervous system, mental health, or diabetic conditions.
These heat warnings are issued when the temperature can pose an elevated risk of heat illnesses.
