Last Thursday afternoon, the Weyburn Police Service responded to a report of mischief to a motor vehicle. A woman driving a vehicle was stopped at a red light, when a man behind confronted her.
Sergeant Riley Ross says the man ended up inflicting damage on the womans vehicle.
“An individual wasn't happy with another individual's driving. Through that, that individual exited their vehicle and ended up kicking that other person's vehicle, which caused damage, so it was reported to us.”
Sergeant Ross says the suspect later attended the police station to turn himself in.
“During that situation, I think the suspect had some self-reflection and ended up turning himself in to the police, and he was charged with mischief and released for a later court date.”
He advises drivers of what to do in these matters, with a focus on leaving the situation if possible, and contacting the police.
“Our biggest advice is to make sure you keep your doors locked if there is an incident going on, to either drive away if you safely can, or to contact 911 so police can attend.”
