The Weyburn Arts Council is looking for an influx of new members to serve on the executive, as members-at-large, or as volunteers.
Acting Chair Tasha Hill said WAC on meets the third Wednesday of every month for an executive and members meeting, which is not open to the public.
"If people are interested in joining the board, we are always looking for fresh faces, so they can definitely send us a message and we will give them the opportunity to come and spend the meeting with us and see what we're about."
Membership fees are not required, however, WAC does require members to participate in one event per year and attend one meeting per year, which can be the Annual General Meeting.
"Our executives and directors, of course, there's more involved with that. They're required to meet with all of the committees and meet with the executive and attend the monthly meeting."
Hill said their meetings are usually kept to about an hour.
"Sometimes other stuff comes up and of course discussions are had, or if you have new members that are in the meeting, you have to stop and explain our policies and procedures because we do things a little differently than other boards."
She added that WAC is also always looking for help from those who just want to be involved as volunteers.
"They're not a member, they're just straight up volunteers, and that's all they want to be, and we appreciate them so much, too."
Anyone interested in getting involved in any capacity with WAC can message them through Facebook or send an e-mail to weyburnac.board@gmail.com.
